Towing: a Story.

Rehearsal had been going well. I’m kind of slow when it comes to picking up choreography, so I was really pleased that we’d knocked out most of the moves for “Sh-boom” as performed in Crybaby. I ran down to my car to grab my Drag Bag, which had a CD so that we could bring the music to the open-mic drag show we’d be performing at. I ran back upstairs. Read the rest of this entry »

“It’s a Girl!”

Today, I spent several hours at a local Nature Preserve and pool. Admittance is limited, since space in the park near the pool is extremely limited. Our group got there shortly after the park opened, paid our way in, and parked. We all geared up and made the quarter-mile steep-grade trek down to the pool. Read the rest of this entry »

Kings N Things Holiday Dragstravaganza!

…was Friday night. I worked spotlight. It was pretty awesome. Pride 2008.

So, I went to it. Meredith O. and Blake S. and I set off in the afternoon, parked, and then roamed desperately seeking our shuttle ride to Auditorium Shores. By that time, I was getting extra-grumpy, mostly because I was ravenously hungry.

Meredith worked ID Check, while Blake and I worked the concession stand. By far, this was my favorite volunteer shift during the Fest. I worked hard, but was in the shade with lots of ice. The working part was definitely the best part. Read the rest of this entry »

The Dresden Dolls Live @ Stubb’s [1 June 2008].

Becca O. and I got there about an half-hour after doors, which were at 7.00PM. The first opening band, Insect Fable, had already finished up and cleared off the stage, and a playlist was blasting over the formidable speaker system. We poked around; there were several street-performers out doing their things; living statues, hula-hoop-dancers, mimes, et cetera. Read the rest of this entry »

Volley Two + SCUBA.

I think my mother is going to drive me insane. I am sure that I’m driving her nuts with what she views as my deviant/troubled/self-destructive behavior, which which consists of my keeping “strange” hours (sleeping from one to nine in the morning) and not going to the gym every day. I think she’s even got Sister in on this. If this keeps up, I’ll be a raving lunatic in no time. Read the rest of this entry »
